About the Library


The Office of the Director of Public Prosecution(ODPP) library & Resource centre is as old as the office itself, having been established at the same time the office was set up in 2013.

The mandate of the library is to select, acquire, organize, preserve and disseminate information resources in all formats to all staff of ODPP. In addition, the library is to create awareness of the information resources, assist users in accessing information and train users in the use of the library facilities.

The library has an approximate 4,300 legal textbooks, more than 2,200 copies of law reports, latest edition of grey books, legal journals, court reports and news bulletins, Kenya Gazette and a collection of government publications. 

The library facilitate access to open access resources of DOAJ, DOAB, OpenDOAR, Kenya law etc. There is a computer lab with enough computer terminals and reliable internet connection for online research. The main library is located at PTI, and there are branches in Kisumu and Nakuru regional offices.


Using Integrated Library Management System (ILMS)

Click the "Search" or "Submit" button to initiate the search. The OPAC will process your query and display a list of search results based on your input.

Browse through the search results to find the item you are interested in. The results typically include the title, author, availability status, and other relevant details about each item.

Library rules are formulated to ensure equity in information service delivery and to create a conducive environment for reading to all library users and to guide library staff in discharging their duties.

  • Borrow and return books and materials within the stipulated time
  • Maintain Silence
  • No food and drinks allowed in the Library
  • Handle Library Materials with care
  • Personal belongings are an individual responsibility

📓 Book Borrowing


  • To borrow a book for use outside the library, a member is required to register with the library. There are no fees for registration.
  • A library user can borrow a maximum of two books per visit for 14 days
  • Borrowed books must be returned on or before the due date
  • A book can be renewed for further use, provided no other users have placed a request for the same
  • Overdue books may attract fines
